Job summary

Job description

A high-end furniture and interior design company is seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist to provide temporary support to a small accounting team. This is a hands-on, transactional accounting role focused on accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment application, invoice adjustments, and weekly check runs. The ideal candidate has NetSuite experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage recurring accounting processes accurately and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Apply customer and vendor deposits and payments accurately in NetSuite.
• Manage transactions involving upfront deposits, including applying funds and making corresponding invoice adjustments.
• Support weekly check runs and ensure payments are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Review invoices and account activity, identify discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure transactions are properly reflected in the system.
• Handle routine, high-volume transactional accounting work with consistency and attention to detail.
• Learn the organization's transaction flow from initial deposit through final invoicing and payment.
• Collaborate with a small accounting team and provide additional AP/AR support as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a combined AP/AR position.
• NetSuite experience required.
• Experience applying payments and deposits and making invoice adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with recurring, transactional accounting processes.
• Dependable and punctual, with consistent availability for an on-site schedule.
• Ability to quickly learn business processes and work effectively within a small accounting department.
