Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Scientist for the Animal Genetic Technologies group in South San Francisco. You will develop and apply genome editing (CRISPR) in mouse models to identify disease modifiers and validate new therapeutic targets.

This role requires strong molecular biology skills, a track record of publications, and collaboration across a fast-paced team. The position emphasizes in vivo genome manipulation, state-of-the-art technology, and applying diverse sequencing/omics approaches.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree or equivalent in genetics and/or molecular biology, with postdoc experience.
• Hands-on experience with mouse as a model system and publication record.
• Proficiency in CRISPR and NGS-based methods (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, scRNA-Seq).

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply genome editing in vivo using mouse genetics to identify disease modifiers.
• Collaborate across teams and contribute to target validation for therapies.
• Present findings through publications and internal communications.
