Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Lab Specialist to support operation and maintenance of the ARL, focusing on sample management coordination and equipment status for the laboratory. Work under Analytical Manager/Supervisor with cross-disciplinary collaboration on approved procedures, schedules, and budgets.

The role involves developing/administering tasks, coordinating with on-site and off-site entities, and training scientific personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• Eight years of combined education/experience in plant operations, chemistry, laboratory operations, maintenance coordination, and materials management.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science may substitute for two years of experience.
• Associate degree with 10 years of related experience in plant operations, chemistry, and laboratory operations.
• HS Diploma with 12 years of related experience in plant operations, chemistry, and materials management.

Responsibilities

• Develop method and equipment health/status reports with Lab Method SME.
• Act as sample management point of contact for Analytical Laboratory, coordinating send/receive/process of samples.
• Coordinate needed work for analytical equipment of the Laboratory with Facility management.
• Perform work safely and with focus on safety of self and others.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
• Keep supervisor updated on schedule, budget, delays, and issues.
• Maintain expert knowledge in Analytical Lab activities and apply standards.
• Provide technical guidance to technical and scientific personnel.
• Assure quality, quantity, and completeness of work.
• Plan and schedule activities for assigned projects.
• Maintain timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports.
• Maintain proper document files and records.
• Build productive relationships within Lab and interfacing groups.
• Support Nuclear Safety Quality Culture through safety and quality values.
• Other tasks may be assigned based on business needs.
