Job summary

Amentum's Analytical Lab team seeks a Lab Specialist to oversee operation and maintenance of analytic lab equipment, develop procedures with SMEs, and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams at the Hanford site.

Under the Analytical Manager or Supervisor, you will handle CM/PM work packages, ensure safety, and maintain documentation while guiding technical staff and ensuring compliance with environmental permits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science or equivalent education.
• Six years of experience through a combination of education and experience in plant operations, chemistry, laboratory operations, preventative and corrective maintenance coordination, and materials management.
• Associate degree and 8 years of experience through a combination of education and experience in plant operations, chemistry, laboratory operations, preventative and corrective maintenance coordination, and materials management.

Responsibilities

• Manage lab chemicals and supplies inventory.
• Work with Lab Method SME to develop work instructions for CM and PM work packages.
• Lead Job Hazard Analysis.
• Manage and maintain CM and PM lab work control.
• Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
• Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
• Keeps the supervisor advised as to status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budget, delays and adverse conditions.
• Maintain expert knowledge and technical expertise in assigned area as it applies to Analytical Lab activities and implementing those standards into assigned area.
• Provides technical assistance and guidance to technical and scientific personnel.
• Assures quality, quantity, and completeness of the work required.
• Plans and schedules activities associated with assigned projects.
• Maintain timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports regarding assigned activities and tasks.
• Maintains proper document files and records.
