Affirm is a remote-first company reinventing credit with a mission to provide honest, transparent consumer financing. The Risk & Analytics team analyzes the lifecycle from checkout to repayment and guides business decisions with scalable data tools and AI-enabled insights.

As an Analyst I, you will learn consumer lending fundamentals while performing scoped analytics tasks, partnering with ML, Product, and Engineering to optimize risk, growth, and profitability across markets.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role or relevant internships in fintech/financial services.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining and data visualization and foundational statistical modeling.
• Understanding of consumer lending regulations and machine learning applications in business.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and support strategy to optimize product, risk, or growth across geographies.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics, user behavior, and macro trends; flag risks to senior team.
• Write clean SQL and Python to build scalable reporting; partner with Engineering to deploy ML and risk models.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models and policies.
• Support cross-functional discussions to align launches with capabilities and risk appetite.
• Integrate AI tools to accelerate data mining and routine tasks while verifying outputs.
