Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level AmeriCorps members to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You'll support academics, attendance, and positive behaviors, planning progress with teachers and contributing to classroom instruction.

You will participate in 2-4 weeks of training and collaborate with partner teachers and school staff throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident eligible to work in the U.S.
• Entry-level AmeriCorps role with training and supervision provided.
• Commitment to coaching students and supporting teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities by student level and encourage assignments.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Record and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Support extended day and after-school programs and family engagement.
