Job summary
Math Corps, operated by Ampact, is seeking Math Tutors to support students in local schools. You’ll run tutoring sessions, track progress, and engage with a school-based coach to ensure student growth. Training and coaching are provided to help you succeed in this roles.
Positions run for the 2026-27 school year with daytime hours, Monday to Friday, and some weeks with holidays may reduce hours. Part-time options are available with an AmeriCorps stipend and education awards.
Qualifications
- Dependability and consistent attendance.
- Able to follow feedback and improve.
- Proficient with basic computer tasks (email, online tools).
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- US citizenship, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Able to successfully complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Lead tutoring sessions for groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes.
- Follow a school-day schedule to ensure students receive support.
- Track student progress and consult with on-site coach.
- Enter student scores in the data software or database.
- Commit to ongoing coaching and professional development.
- Share teaching experiences with the community.
