Job summary

Ampact’s Math Corps is seeking tutors to support K-12 students as AmeriCorps members. You’ll tutor in local schools, guiding groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes, following a structured schedule and receiving ongoing coaching and training.

This paid AmeriCorps role offers a 35-hour week, daytime hours, weekday work, and education benefits, including loan forbearance and loan forgiveness opportunities. A high school diploma and U.S. citizenship or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer use (email, online navigation).
• English fluent in speaking, reading and writing.
• Age 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
