Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve full-time to coach and mentor students, helping them achieve academic success and better attendance. Training is provided, and you will work with teachers to support classrooms and school-wide initiatives.

This entry-level role emphasizes growth, teamwork, and community impact. You'll participate in 2-4 weeks of training, collaborate with staff, and contribute to literacy, math, and behavioral development.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to support academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers.
• Develop literacy, math and behavior support strategies for students.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor data and progress.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Support after-school and enrichment activities as part of Whole School initiatives.
