  • High School diploma and 1 year related experience in an administrative office or customer service field required
  • Completion of Vision Care 1,2,3 courses required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients to initiate positive ambulatory experience, verifies patient identity with two identifiers and directs to next destination
  • Collects patient demographic and financial information for a billable account and enters data into EMR and revenue cycle systems
  • Schedules new and return visits, coordinates appointments for testing or referrals, and manages missed appointments
  • Answers phone calls, routes inquiries to appropriate staff, and creates telephone encounters in the EMR
  • Edits registration data, assists in charge reconciliation, and ensures accuracy of patient schedules
  • Maintains HIPAA compliance and supports patient satisfaction throughout the visit
