Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in the Manhasset area is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Manhasset. You will scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be a graduate of an NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program with certification on hire.
• Certified in BLS (American Heart Association) is required.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the OR under RN supervision.
• Anticipate and gather supplies and equipment based on procedure cards.
• Assist as secondary circulator and maintain sterile technique.
• Report deviations and participate in safety, QA, and performance improvement activities.
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable.
• Participate in staff development and orientation.
