University of Rochester Medicine is seeking a customer-focused receptionist/registrations specialist to process patient information for ambulatory care visits. You will perform reception tasks, register patients, manage appointments, and support revenue cycle processes within the EMR system.

Responsibilities include collecting demographics, verifying data accuracy, scheduling visits, collecting co-pays, and ensuring PHI protection in line with HIPAA regulations.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year administrative/customer service experience.
• Strong data entry and word processing skills.
• Familiarity with EMR and revenue cycle systems preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Greets patients, verifies identity with two identifiers, and directs them to the next step.
• Schedules and pre-registers patients, coordinates appointments and referrals.
• Collects patient demographics and financial information for a billable account.
• Answers calls, routes inquiries, and opens telephone encounters in the EMR.
• Edits registration data, supports charge reconciliation, and manages registration accuracy.
• Ensures timely, accurate patient information handling and PHI protection per HIPAA.
