The City of Cleveland is seeking an Airport Building Maintenance Superintendent to coordinate and supervise one maintenance section at the airport. You will back-up the Manager, assign work orders, and ensure preventive maintenance programs run smoothly.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, an OH driver’s license, and supervisory experience across building, field, or custodial operations. Strong leadership and administrative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Custodial: HS diploma/GED and an Associate’s degree required; 2 years of relevant airport/large facility housekeeping experience; driver’s license.
• Field: HS diploma/GED; 3 years in maintenance supervisory/leadership; preferred 2 years airport experience; driver’s license.
• Building: HS diploma/GED; 3 years supervisory in facilities/building maintenance; driver’s license; prefer contract prep knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Review work orders, set priorities, assign deadlines to front-line teams.
• Coordinate daily priorities and task details to workforce by skill level.
• Help develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with team collaboration.
• Develop SOPs for work functions in Building Maintenance.
• Maintain system records such as MSDS, drawings, specs, manuals.
• Represent section in projects involving Carpentry, Painting, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical.
• Collaborate with other airport sections, airlines, tenants and contractors.
• Train Unit Leaders and workforce on tasks; provide coaching and evaluations.
• Coordinate maintenance with airport sections, vendors, and City staff.
• Hire, develop, and evaluate staff; manage performance and disciplinary actions.
• Perform succession planning to prepare for leadership roles.
• Handle scheduling overtime, benefits, security docs; track work orders.
• Assist with budget and procurements; manage requisitions and payments.
• Promote safety policies; prepare accident/injury reports as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required.
