Job summary

The City of Lynchburg's Lynchburg Regional Airport is seeking an Airport Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate and perform maintenance, repairs, and construction on airport facilities and critical systems. This full-time role oversees staff, enforces safety, and ensures reliable operations at the airport.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with extensive supervisory experience in electrical systems, a Virginia driver’s license, and FAA/NIMS training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with extensive supervisory experience in electrical systems operation and maintenance.
• Extensive experience in skilled maintenance and maintenance of buildings or related structures.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule.
• Successful completion of FAA employment requirements, including drug and alcohol screens, police records check, and background check; IS100 and IS700 NIMS training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervises semi-skilled and skilled workers in repair, maintenance, and construction of buildings, facilities, and related systems.
• Tests and inspects equipment for proper operation and safety; records inspection results.
• Develops and maintains maintenance logs and preventive maintenance programs.
• Plans and supervises snow removal operations on runways, taxiways, and roads; on-call duties including weekends/holidays.
• Responds to emergency maintenance calls and enforces safety procedures to protect personnel and assets.
