Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) at Boston Logan International Airport is hiring a Baggage Handling System Assistant for the 2nd shift (12:00pm - 8:30pm). You will monitor the baggage flow from check-in to makeup, respond to alarms, load/unload luggage, and support safe, efficient operations.

This role requires physical capability, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Familiarity with safety, security, and regulatory requirements in baggage handling.
Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Respond to and clear baggage system alarms.
Clear simple baggage jams.
Assist in loading and unloading luggage onto conveyor belts and carts.
Ensure proper lifting techniques.
Monitor bags before TSA screening and proper conveyor placement to prevent jams.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
Retag bags at Manual Encode station as needed.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining the bag room.
Transport empty BHS tubs to staging areas for reuse.
Comply with safety, security, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Assist in training new team members and provide guidance to peers.
Empty trash and dispose of waste to maintain cleanliness.
