Job summary

JLL in Boston Logan International Airport is seeking a Baggage Handling System (BHS) Assistant to monitor baggage from check-in to the makeup unit, ensuring safe handling and timely processing. The role involves responding to alarms, clearing jams, loading/unloading luggage, and maintaining safe operations on-site.

This position requires lifting up to 60 lbs, flexibility for evenings and weekends, and a collaborative approach to support a high-performing team.

Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 60lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with safety, security, and regulatory requirements related to baggage handling.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing conditions.

Responsibilities

Respond to and clear baggage system alarms.
Clear simple baggage jams and assist in loading/unloading luggage and cargo onto belts.
Ensure proper lifting techniques and safe handling of items.
Monitor bags at screening stages and prevent system jams.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions and assist in repairs.
Retag bags at Manual Encode station as needed.
Assist with training new team members and provide guidance.
Maintain cleanliness in the bag room and transport bags/tubs as required.
Comply with safety, security, and regulatory requirements at all times.
