Job summary

American Airlines in Atlanta, GA is seeking a part-time Customer Service Agent to join our team. You will assist passengers, check-in, and handle baggage while delivering courteous service in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, bilingual abilities, and the ability to obtain necessary security badges. Expect shift variability, including weekends and holidays, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED or global equivalent.
• Bilingual language competencies required in some locations.
• Applicable valid driver’s license as required by local authorities.
• FAA background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identity display regions (SIDA), if relevant.
• Must be able to obtain airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if relevant.
• Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, complete background check and/or fingerprinting to fulfill business and security requirements.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and sells air travel to the traveling public or freight forwarders.
• Gives help with passenger check-in and load recognition.
• Translates government rules and requirements for domestic and international travel or shipment shipments.
• Meets and dispatches planes within scheduled times.
• Provides help to troubled passengers and clients.
• Protects employer property and sales.
• Provides for safe travel.
• Possesses the physical ability and dexterity to perform various job-related duties.
• Uses organizational skills to carry out multiple tasks within a restricted time period.
• Is self-motivated and requires minimal supervision.
• Responds and assists during security and emergency situations.
• Follows internal/external policies and procedures.
• May be required to drive and operate air stairs up to various types of aircraft to board and deplane passengers.
• May be required to perform Passenger Operation control capabilities including air to ground communication as well as Tower functions.
• Depending on airport location this role may work in various weather conditions.
• Because of flight operations customer service agents work shifts that include irregular and/or extended hours, weekends and holidays.
