Job summary

Amentum is actively seeking Aircraft Mechanic I, Airframes to support U.S. Navy operations at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The role requires F/A-18 maintenance experience and completion of Navy AM 'A' School, with CDI qualification within 30 days.

Work involves maintaining aircraft systems and documenting work performed. On-site duties include inspecting, repairing, and replacing components, and performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in a demanding outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of actual and recent organizational-level F/A-18 A-G maintenance experience.
• Must obtain Collateral Duty Inspector qualification within 30 days of hire date.
• Must have completed Navy Aviation Structural Mechanics AM 'A' School.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structures, landing gear, and flight controls.
• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and components.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Record maintenance in the aircraft records and verify work performed.
