Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Sheet Metal/Assembly Technician to perform sub‑assembly and component assembly for aircraft seating components. You will bond, rivet, fit, and adjust parts to exact specifications, using fixtures and testing equipment.

The role requires reading drawings, following work orders, and maintaining quality throughout the process. This safety‑sensitive position is on a 2nd shift (training on 1st shift for 3–4 weeks, Mon–Fri 6:00 am–2:30 pm; then 2nd shift 2:30 pm–11:00

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required or 2 years relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job cards, and drawings.
• Proficient with hand and power tools used in aircraft seating assembly.
• Strong documentation and data-entry skills for records.
• Good math skills for precise measurements and calculations.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand through shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform sub-assembly and component assembly operations with bonding and riveting.
• Install and adjust aircraft seat components to meet specs.
• Follow drawings and work orders to assemble efficiently and accurately.
• Set up fixtures, jigs, and testing equipment as required.
• Assemble, fit, and adjust metal and plastic details to structures.
• Conduct final checks to ensure proper operation and quality standards.
• Perform repairs and adjustments on assemblies as needed.
• Ensure work adheres to blueprints and procedures and maintains traceability.
