Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a seasoned Air Quality & Acoustics Business Line Lead to drive strategic growth, financial performance, and market positioning across national teams. You will guide cross‑functional leaders, shape service offerings, and champion digital solutions.

You will partner with regional leadership to forecast resources, manage profitability, and build strategic client relationships while mentoring future leaders in a fast‑paced, employee‑owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program and 17 years applicable experience required.
• Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water industries is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in business development, client management, and team leadership preferred.
• Experience supporting modern delivery methods and digital transformation initiatives preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others (owners, contractors, engineers, designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Drive business performance through sales, revenue, gross margin, backlog, and utilization metrics; develop annual plans and growth strategies.
• Lead national growth strategies, major pursuits, capture planning, and executive client engagement.
• Collaborate with regional offices to forecast workforce demand and secure resources for growth initiatives.
• Monitor national utilization and capacity; drive cross-regional collaboration and set targets.
• Align regional teams around strategic goals; lead investment priorities and growth initiatives; ensure consistent execution.
