Job summary

Global Medical Response is seeking an Operations Control Specialist in O'Fallon, MO to provide expert operational control for air ambulance missions. The role supports pilots with real-time weather assessments, flight windows, and mutual management with the Central Communications Center, ensuring safety and compliance with FARs and company policies.

Ideal candidates have strong data skills, experience with SQL/Databricks, and the ability to design dashboards.

Qualifications

• Excel-based dashboards design/implementation.
• Intermediate knowledge of sourcing datasets from SQL and understanding data structures.
• Basic understanding of Star Schema data model design for data warehouse interactions.
• Adept knowledge of T-SQL to retrieve data from relational databases or data warehouses.
• Familiarity with SSRS package creation, file generation and error handling in Visual Studio.
• Entry-level knowledge of Databricks Platform/Lakehouse and its integration with MS SQL.
• Entry-level knowledge of AI Tools for solving business problems.
• Experience in data aggregation, normalization, and data modeling from multiple sources.
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems with practical solutions.
• Healthcare industry knowledge, insurance billing and third-party reimbursement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides Operational assistance and Operational Control.
• Monitors, evaluates, and reports weather information to pilots.
• Advises pilots of operational windows for transports.
• Mutual management of air ambulance crews with Central Communications Center.
• Performs risk analyses across service areas evaluating pilot capabilities and weather trends.
• Declines or aborts unsafe flights per established procedures.
• Prepares operational reports for leadership.
• Collaborates with Flight Operations and Operations Control Center Manager.
• Develops and revises the Company EAP/PAIP as needed.
• Conducts training for new-hire and recurrent staff.
