This hybrid, full-time role is ideal for a self‑motivated freight sales professional with a proven record of selling international air freight, building shipper relationships, and closing new accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect, qualify, and close new air freight accounts, including shippers, exporters, e‑commerce brands, and importers.
- Build and manage a pipeline of BCO/direct shippers and freight‑forwarder co‑load partners.
- Prepare competitive air freight quotes, including per‑kilogram, chargeable‑weight, and all‑in DDP/DAP pricing, in partnership with pricing and operations teams.
- Sell the full service portfolio, including air export/import, consolidations, express, ocean LCL/FCL, customs brokerage, warehousing, and fulfillment.
- Negotiate rates and service terms with customers and carrier or airline partners.
- Onboard new accounts and ensure a clean handoff to operations and account management teams.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and weekly activity reports.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of outside sales experience selling international air freight for a freight forwarder, NVOCC, or IAC.

- Ability to provide specific sales figures from current or recent roles, including A, B, and C client accounts with revenue or volume results.
- Ability to clearly distinguish international air freight sales experience from domestic freight sales experience.
- Demonstrated success generating new‑business revenue and bringing a portable book of air freight accounts.
- Working knowledge of major trade lanes, including transpacific, transatlantic, Latin America, and Middle East/India.
- Knowledge of airline capacity, chargeable weight, IATA and TSA‑IAC requirements, and Incoterms.
- Understanding of customs clearance, HTS classification basics, ISF, and DDP/DAP delivery models.
- Experience using a TMS or forwarding system such as CargoWise, Magaya, Descartes, or a similar platform, along with CRM tools.
- Strong prospecting, cold‑calling, lead‑generation, negotiation, presentation, communication, and closing skills.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Excel, reporting, research, data entry, LinkedIn outreach, and account management.
- Experience serving e‑commerce or marketplace shippers, including Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, or eBay, is a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience is accepted.
- Self‑driven, proactive, organized, detail‑oriented, adaptable, collaborative, and results‑focused approach.
Benefits:
- Base salary of $80,000 to $120,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.
- Uncapped commission structure.
- Hybrid work arrangement.
- Full‑time, direct‑hire opportunity.
