Job summary

Motorola Solutions seeks a Business Development Engineer for US Air Force engagements. You will bridge RF capabilities with DoD requirements, demonstrate interoperability of StreamCaster assets, and collaborate with Applications Engineering for field-ready solutions.

This role requires up to 50% travel, a valid SECRET clearance or ability to obtain, and strong communication skills to engage with engineers and program offices. Remote work options may apply based on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• U.S. citizenship required for clients under U.S. government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Air Force operational priorities and map requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support planning, configuration, and live field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate with Engineering to leverage testing data and verify architectures.
• Provide technical demos tailored to airborne and expeditionary networking needs.
• Assist in responding to RFIs/RFPs with technical input.
• Identify opportunities for partnerships and test end-to-end networks.
• Travel up to 50% for field tests and customer meetings.
