Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam is seeking a Flight Paramedic to join our air transportation team, delivering advanced life support from point of injury to facility transfer. You will contribute to safe patient care, perform in-flight medical duties, and participate in pre/post-flight procedures while maintaining strict documentation.

Required are an EMT-P license and ongoing certifications; FP-C within 24 months and instructor certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a911 or critical care setting.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished.
• Maintain competency through ongoing lab and clinical experiences.
• Maintain licensure/certifications/education records in the Employee Education Manual.
• Be knowledgeable in use and maintenance of equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
• Function as a medical flight team member.
• Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete documentation.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot support as needed.
• Comply with safety standards to ensure safety of crew, patients, and equipment.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
• Fill open/vacant shifts within assigned area as directed by Regional Director.
