Morton Ranch Elementary in Katy, Texas is seeking a SPED - Aide for Structured Autism (Y/CAP, Bilingual). The position reports to the Principal and is a Full-Time, non-exempt role for 187 duty days, with a starting date of immediately. Pay grade IS04.
Employment is through Katy ISD. The ideal candidate will have college hours or ParaPro test scores, a valid Texas Educational Aide II certificate, and the ability to work with children with disabilities.

Qualifications:
College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
College hours 15 or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the ParaPro test) for Non-Title I campus
Valid Texas Educational Aide II certificate required once employed
Ability to work with children with disabilities
Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of general office equipment
Valid CPI certification preferred (can be obtained after employment)

Primary Purpose:
Clerical, instructional and student-care duties as assigned
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, copier, printer, voice output devices, playground equipment and motor lab equipment.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; occasional running, heavy lifting and carrying, 45 pounds and over daily, positioning of students, moving classroom or adaptive equipment , noise exposure, biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases; exposure to physical and verbal outbursts by students. May be required to utilize CPI strategies to manage disruptive students, including restraint.
