Katy Independent School District at Memorial Parkway Elementary in Katy, Texas seeks a SPED teacher for Autism and YCAP/Bilingual support to work with eligible students. The role reports to the Principal/Director and involves ARD/IEP participation and collaboration with families.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a valid Texas certificate. CPI certification is preferred. This is a full-time position with 187 duty days and a pay grade based on experience.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area
Ability to work effectively between the school and community
Experience in providing instruction to students with autism spectrum disorder Valid CPI certification (preferred or after employment)
Primary Purpose:
Provide special education consultation and instruction to meet the needs of eligible students identified with autism spectrum disorder.

Equipment Used:
Personal computer, copier, printer and fax machine, motor lab equipment, adaptive equipment, voice output devices.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; occasional running, heavy lifting and carrying, 45 pounds and over daily, positioning of students, moving classroom or adaptive equipment, noise exposure, biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases; exposure to physical and verbal outbursts by students. May be required to utilize CPI strategies to manage disruptive students, including restraint.
