Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking a Project Cost Accountant to own billing for a large project portfolio. You will prepare AIA documentation, maintain contract details, and ensure invoices go out accurately, on time.

This role blends detail work with problem solving and cross-functional coordination with Operations and Finance. You will manage forms and lien waivers, track contracts, and verify insurance certificates across 80+ active projects, while driving clean revenue flow and reducing

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in AIA or construction project billing.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and contract billing.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing or accounting systems.
• Experience with SAGE or similar ERP platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Generate customer invoices through intercompany billing software.
• Manage billing for a portfolio of more than 80 construction projects.
• Resolve billing discrepancies with project managers and clients to prevent delays.
• Set up and maintain construction project records in SAGE, including changes.
• Review contracts to identify key billing terms and requirements.
• Prepare, track, and organize lien waivers of all types.
• Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding invoices.
