Job summary

Jobot is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support AIA progress billings, accounts receivable, collections, and lien releases in a construction environment in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities include preparing AIA progress billings, T&M billings, change orders, monitoring AR, supporting month-end close, and WIP reporting. Requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 3+ years in construction accounting; COINS/Sage/Vista experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
• 3+ years of construction accounting experience required.
• Hands-on experience with AIA progress billings required.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with construction or project-based ERP systems (COINS, Sage, Vista, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process AIA progress billings, T&M billings, and change orders.
• Ensure billings align with contract terms, schedules of values, and approvals.
• Monitor AR aging and support collections and dispute resolution.
• Apply cash receipts and resolve unapplied or short payments.
• Prepare, issue, and track conditional and unconditional lien releases.
• Support month-end close, AR reconciliations, and WIP reporting.
