Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a Sr. Director of AI & Technology Risk Governance to lead the enterprise AI Systems Governance Program and oversee AI, cyber security, and data privacy governance across the organization and its member carriers.

You will guide risk assessment, approvals, monitoring, and improvements, partnering with business and AI teams to balance responsible AI adoption with regulatory and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in technology risk, AI governance, cyber risk, or enterprise risk.
• Experience in regulated environments (insurance or financial services preferred).
• Strong executive communication, influencing, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise AI Systems Governance Program across The Mutual Group and member carriers.
• Manage the AIS / Security Governance Team and oversee AI governance activities.
• Provide executive oversight of AI risk assessments and governance decisions; escalate as needed.
• Oversee governance for Cyber Security, Data Privacy, and IT Controls within a unified risk framework.
• Ensure readiness for internal/external audits and regulatory exams.
