Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a senior leader to govern AI systems across its enterprise, driving risk assessment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. You will lead the AIS Governance Team and ensure alignment with cyber security, data privacy, and IT controls.

The role requires extensive experience in regulated environments and a collaborative approach with member carriers to standardize AI governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in technology risk, AI governance, cyber risk, or enterprise risk.
• Experience in regulated environments (insurance or financial services preferred).
• Experience in multi-entity / shared services / multi-carrier environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AI Systems Governance Program across the full lifecycle: intake, risk assessment, approval, monitoring, and retirement.
• Oversee the AIS / Security Governance Team and governance activities across AI and cyber security.
• Ensure governance is a continuous control function with ongoing validation and improvement.
• Collaborate with business and AI teams to enable responsible AI adoption, not just compliance.
• Provide executive oversight of AI risk assessments and governance decisions; escalate as needed.
• Drive enterprise governance across cyber security, data privacy, IT controls, and regulatory alignment.
