Job summary

Veracity Insurance is hiring a Lead AI Engineer to be the primary technical authority on AI strategy, architecture, and adoption. You will shape how AI is built and scaled across our customer-facing digital platform serving small business owners nationwide.

This is a systems leadership role without people management, connecting engineering, product, and business leadership to make high-stakes decisions on build vs. buy, platform selection, and guardrails for AI-generated code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering with production AI/ML or GenAI.
• 2+ years building production LLM/GenAI and agentic systems.
• Experience taking a business process and rebuilding with AI in production.
• Fluency with AI-assisted coding tooling and guardrails for AI-generated code.
• Proficiency in Python and GenAI tool stack; architecture mindset.

Responsibilities

• Define AI engineering roadmap and architecture standards.
• Lead build-vs-buy decisions for AI systems and platforms.
• Evaluate new tools/frameworks and recommend to leadership.
• Serve as escalation point for complex AI/ML system design.
• Architect AI solutions for the enterprise platform and scalable production.
• Design systems for scale, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Establish LLMOps practices and controlled rollout.
• Ensure AI systems integrate with existing product and engineering infra.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to align AI with business outcomes.
• Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
