Job summary

Vertafore is seeking an AI Engineering Leader to own delivery for core AI product domains. You’ll manage a small team of engineers, review architecture, and stay hands-on with code.

Your role blends technical leadership with practical execution to move AI features from design to production across North America. You’ll lead 4–8 engineers, drive end-to-end delivery, and collaborate with product managers to translate customer problems into a strong engineering roadmap.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ML/AI engineering experience.
• 1–3+ years of people management or tech lead experience.
• Hands-on with LLM-based apps, agentic workflows or document processing.
• Proficiency in Python; familiarity with AI stack and tooling.
• Experience deploying AI systems in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing AI engineering team (4–8 engineers) and mentor growth.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI features within your domain.
• Contribute to system design, code reviews, and critical-path work.
• Set engineering standards for testing, observability, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product, data, and other engineering teams.
