Job summary

Exa is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead the technical side of presales, collaborating with Account Executives from discovery to close. You will design and present demos, run workshops, and drive POCs with defined success criteria.

You will also address security, compliance, and architecture questions and coordinate with Forward Deployed Engineers when deeper expertise is needed. This in-person role is based in San Francisco, with sponsorship for international candidates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on programming experience and ability to build compelling demos, POCs, and evals.
• 2+ years in presales or technical sales, ideally AI-native or developer-first.
• Strong communication skills adaptable to CTOs, engineers, and PMs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical side of opportunities alongside Account Executives from first call through technical win.
• Conduct discovery to understand use cases, architecture, data needs, and success criteria.
• Build and deliver tailored demos, sample apps, and prototypes on the prospect's problem.
• Design and run workshops and POCs with clear success criteria, timelines, and evaluation plans.
• Win technical evaluations by benchmarking quality, latency, and cost, against alternatives.
• Handle technical objections and answer security, compliance, and architecture questions.
• Coordinate with Forward Deployed Engineers for deeper expertise and hand off after close.
• Provide market feedback to Product on buyer requests and competitive gaps.
• Create reusable presales assets such as demo environments and reference architectures.
