Job summary

EY’s Challenger program seeks an experienced full-stack engineer to turn AI capabilities into durable products. You’ll work end-to-end, close to users, decisions, and production code, balancing speed with accessibility and reliability.

You’ll own complete product slices, shape AI behavior, and design evaluation systems while partnering across product, design, domain, platform, and control teams. Travel up to 50% and hybrid office options are available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
• End-to-end delivery from concept through launch, learning, and adoption
• Strong full-stack capability across modern frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud technologies
• Hands-on experience building products with large language models, retrieval, tools, or comparable AI patterns
• Evidence of automated testing and behavioral evaluation for probabilistic systems
• Telemetry, debugging, reliability, incident response, and performance improvement
• Experience working directly with users, designers, and product leaders to turn evidence into better product decisions
• Clear specifications, maintainable code, thoughtful review, and sound technical trade-offs
• This role requires up to 50% travel and hybrid office presence

Responsibilities

• Start with the user and understand real workflows with domain experts
• Turn product hypotheses into concise specs, prototypes, and small releases
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and enterprise integrations
• Shape AI behavior with instructions, context, retrieval, and structured outputs
• Build the evidence system with representative tasks and automated evaluations
• Relate adoption and task success to system behavior, latency, failures, and cost
• Engineer for responsible use with clear permission boundaries and secure data handling
• Release incrementally, monitor live behavior, and improve through incidents and failures
• Balance experience, quality, speed, reliability, and cost in design choices
• Share reusable components and evaluation assets while ensuring performance
