Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced engineer to turn emerging AI capabilities into durable products, close to users and production code. You will own complete product slices and shape AI behavior.

The Challenger Core team builds reusable tools and guardrails, collaborating across product, design, domain, platform, and control to move ideas from concept to production. Travel up to 50% is required in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• End-to-end delivery: taking software from concept to launch and adoption.
• Technical breadth across frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud technologies.
• Applied AI experience with LLMs, retrieval, or similar patterns.
• Automated testing and behavioral evaluation for probabilistic systems.
• Live-service ownership including telemetry, debugging, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Start with the user and understand real workflows with domain experts.
• Turn hypotheses into concise specifications, prototypes, and small releases.
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, and AI behavior.
• Shape AI behavior through design of instructions, context, and outputs.
• Build evidence systems with automated evaluations for usefulness and safety.
• Instrument journeys to relate adoption to system behavior and cost.
• Engineer for responsible use with data handling and safe fallbacks.
• Ensure production quality with monitoring, incidents, and recovery.
• Make pragmatic trade-offs balancing experience, quality, speed, and cost.
• Share reusable patterns and components with the platform team.
