Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced AI-focused software engineer to turn emerging AI capabilities into durable products. You’ll work end-to-end, from user conversations to prototypes and secure services, while balancing accessibility, maintainability and speed.

The role emphasizes responsible use, telemetry, and cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid US setting with up to 50% travel. You will join Challenger, EY’s program building next-generation services, contributing reusable patterns and tools

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• End-to-end delivery: taking customer- or employee-facing software from concept through launch.
• Technical breadth: full-stack across frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud technologies.
• Applied AI experience: building products with large language models, retrieval, tools.
• Evaluation experience: automated testing and behavioral evaluation.
• Live-service ownership: telemetry, debugging, reliability, incident response, recovery.
• User-centered practice: working directly with users, designers, and product leaders.
• Engineering craft: clear specifications, maintainable code, code reviews.
• Travel and On-site requirements: up to 50% travel and hybrid office.

Responsibilities

• Start with the user and understand real workflows with domain experts.
• Test assumptions quickly with concise specifications and prototypes.
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Shape AI behavior with instructions, context, retrieval and tools.
• Build the evidence system with representative tasks and automated evaluations.
• Connect outcomes to behavior by instrumenting user journeys and metrics.
• Engineer for responsible use with data handling boundaries and safety checks.
• Own production quality by releasing incrementally and monitoring live behavior.
• Make practical trade-offs balancing experience, quality, speed and cost.
• Contribute reusable patterns and evaluation assets for the platform.
