Job summary

Argo Group in New York seeks a Senior Data Engineer to spearhead an AI-first data strategy for our P&C insurance carrier, leading the design and implementation of data products and platforms. You will collaborate with data analysts, actuaries, underwriters, claims specialists and business leaders to deliver scalable, compliant data solutions that address underwriting, pricing and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience in the insurance industry, preferably P&C.
• Strong understanding of P&C operations (underwriting, claims, pricing).
• Experience implementing AI-first strategies with modern data platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of AI-powered data products for underwriting, claims, risk management, and customer experience in P&C.
• Define and register curated, reusable data products across lines of business.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, actuaries, underwriters, and leaders to deliver scalable data solutions while complying with regulations.
• Establish data engineering best practices, governance, and privacy standards.
• Mentor team members and foster innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
