EY Challenger invites you to invent how people and AI work together. You will design interaction patterns and own the experience layer, turning user research into production-ready solutions across product, engineering, AI, security, and research teams.

You’ll work with diverse experts to create intuitive, trustworthy experiences that enable people to collaborate effectively with AI, while maintaining control over outcomes. The role requires up to 50% travel and a hybrid office presence in the US.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• Portfolio of shipped interaction design, design engineering, frontend engineering, or HCI work.
• Production proficiency in modern web or application technologies.
• Experience designing for AI, search, recommendation, or adaptive systems.
• Semantic UI, WCAG, WAI-ARIA, keyboard interaction, and assistive-technology testing.
• Travel and On-site requirements: up to 50% travel and hybrid office work.

Responsibilities

• Define experience principles, interaction architecture, and reusable patterns for AI-assisted products.
• Conduct workflow research and usability testing with diverse users, including assistive technologies.
• Build high-fidelity prototypes and accessible production components for web, app, conversational, or multimodal surfaces.
• Translate user intent into interaction specifications for clarification, memory, permissions, and action boundaries.
• Make plans, evidence, tool activity, costs, and outcomes legible without overwhelming users.
• Design controls for preview, approval, interruption, edit, undo, retry, escalation, and human takeover.
• Measure task completion, effort, recovery, and trust calibration; collaborate with AI, platform, security, and evaluation specialists.
