Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer to contribute to Generative AI initiatives, building robust AI modules and pipelines while ensuring responsible AI aligned with Humana’s standards and real-world impact.

You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders to deploy scalable AI solutions across Humana’s divisions, with a hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 remote) and Dallas as a listed office location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 2+ years of experience or Master's with 1+ year in AI/ML production-ready solutions.
• Experience with Agentic AI System Design.
• Experience with MLOps and DevOps collaboration.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and data analysis/data mining tools.
• Experience with ML frameworks like Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Experience with high performance, large-scale ML systems.
• Experience with language modeling with transformers.
• Experience with large-scale ETL.

Responsibilities

• AI Innovation & Responsible Generative AI: design and develop AI solutions using Python, AI/ML and generative models like LLMs; ensure responsible development.
• Agentic AI System Design: build autonomous AI agents using frameworks to support reasoning and decision-making in healthcare.
• Enterprise Integration & Business Collaboration: embed AI into Humana’s systems and workflows; co-create solutions with business teams.
• MLOps & DevOps Collaboration: implement best practices for deploying and maintaining AI models in production.
• Execution of data science initiatives, including design, development, and implementation.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high impact AI use case solutions.
• Develop and maintain advanced AI/ML models and algorithms.
• Design and implement robust monitoring capabilities to maintain performance.
• Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to business stakeholders.
• Experience with AI coding assistants
