EY seeks a high-ownership software engineer to turn AI capabilities into durable products. You’ll work close to users, decisions, and production code, moving from conversations to prototypes and secure services. The role emphasizes speed, accessibility, and maintainability within a hybrid work model.

You will join Challenger, EY’s program focused on AI-enabled services, building reusable tools that scale. This is a senior, cross-team role with travel up to 50% and a broad ownership stake across

Competenze

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• End-to-end delivery: taking software from concept to launch and adoption.
• Technical breadth across frontend, backend, APIs, data, and cloud technologies.
• Applied AI experience building products with language models, retrieval, tools, or related patterns.
• Evaluation experience: automated testing and behavioral evaluation for probabilistic systems.
• Live-service ownership: telemetry, debugging, reliability, incident response, recovery.

• Start with the user and work with domain experts to understand workflows and where AI adds value.
• Test assumptions quickly with concise specs, prototypes, and small releases.
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and enterprise integrations.
• Shape AI behavior with instructions, context, retrieval, outputs, and tool use.
• Build the evidence system with representative tasks and automated evaluations.
• Connect outcomes to behavior by instrumenting user journeys and monitoring metrics.
• Engineer for responsible use with clear permission boundaries, secure data handling, and governance.
• Own production quality by releasing incrementally and monitoring live behavior.
• Make practical trade-offs balancing experience, quality, speed, reliability and cost.
• Contribute reusable patterns and evaluation assets across the platform.
