Job summary

Alation, Inc. is seeking a Staff Deployment Strategist to lead end-to-end deployments at the intersection of data intelligence, AI, and governance.

You’ll act as a hands-on builder and trusted advisor, prototyping AI agent solutions and configuring enterprise-grade outcomes with senior customer stakeholders. Responsibilities span discovery through value realization, with emphasis on rapid prototyping, KPI framing, and scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• 6 years in management consulting (strategy, operations, tech) or forward-deployed solution roles at data platform companies.
• Technical fluency: Hands-on with data (SQL essential); familiar with Python, APIs, and modern data architectures.
• Read code, work in SQL, and build in low/no-code platforms; able to collaborate with a technical team without writing production software.
• Executive presence: Strong communication with Director/Sr. Director-level stakeholders; comfortable in exec-facing moments.
• Builder portfolio: Demonstrated track record of building and deploying low/no-code solutions from prototype to production.
• Problem solving: Synthesize ambiguity into clear, actionable plans across workstreams and stakeholders.
• AI & Data Governance: Working understanding of AI agent patterns, LLMs, data governance, and metadata management (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery sessions to surface business challenges, data and governance gaps, and high-value AI opportunities.
• Rapidly prototype AI agent solutions using Alation's platform with low/no-code prototypes.
• Define KPIs and a value story linking technical work to customer outcomes.
• Architect scalable, maintainable configuration-first solutions across ecosystems; balance quick wins with long-term maintainability.
• Own complex deployment delivery across multiple workstreams and system integrations from discovery to consumption.
• Drive enablement, workflow integration, and governance reinforcement for embedded solutions.
• Run high-impact workshops and engage Directors/Sr. Directors; coordinate with account leadership.
• Proactively manage scope, risk, and interdependencies across workstreams.
• Provide structured product feedback to improve the platform and delivery playbooks.
• Contribute to Executive Business Reviews and surface expansion opportunities with the account team.
• Create reusable patterns, accelerators, and playbooks for adoption by other Deployment Strategists.
