Job summary

the company is seeking an engineering leader to guide one of the AI & App Experience (AAX) squads, including Jade, our AI-powered financial assistant. You will hire, coach, and shape a 4-5 person team, own end-to-end delivery, and write production code alongside engineers.

You will drive the squad's technical direction, adopt AI tooling, and ensure safe, scalable LLM-powered features. Collaboration with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk is essential for quarterly planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in people management responsibilities.
• Hands-on coding ability and the desire to keep it.
• Track record using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
• AI-native fluency and practice across the team.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered products with guardrails and observability.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, Data Science.
• Ability to motivate a team through aggressive schedules and goals.
• Enjoy learning and diving into how things work.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a squad of 4-5 engineers: Hiring, 1:1s, coaching, performance.
• Own end-to-end delivery for the squad from sprint planning to SLAs and health.
• Write and ship code alongside the team and review PRs.
• Set technical direction and quality bar, via tech lead or in your own role.
• Use AI coding agents to raise team leverage and establish durable practices.
• Guide design and delivery of LLM-powered capabilities with guardrails and observability.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk on scope and planning.
• Act as cross-functional tech lead and coordinate capabilities and dependencies.
• Identify technical debt and advocate for sustainable engineering and on-call health.
• Build growth paths for engineers toward higher IC levels or TLM role.
• Contribute to broader AAX and company engineering initiatives.
