Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minneapolis is seeking a student intern for the Mass Market Energy Efficiency team. The role focuses on driving AI-enabled process improvements and analytics to help customers save energy. The position starts May 24, 2027 and offers a hybrid work option.

You will analyze historical program data, model likely participants, and contribute to SOP documentation, testing, and data-tracking improvements. The internship may extend based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, STEM, Data Science, or related fields.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) / part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commute to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
• Salesforce usage.
• Business Objects Copilot.
• At least one prior internship or job experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI process improvement projects
• Analyze historical program data to determine trends, model likely participants, and derive insights to drive strategic decisions
• Lead process documentation project to capture all standard operating procedures across the team
• Contribute to user testing, quality control and data tracking improvements
