Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. in Texas is seeking a Data Analytics Intern to transform energy data into actionable insights using Power BI and Databricks. You will support the analytics team, build dashboards, perform data analysis, and collaborate with operations, customer service, and engineering to answer business questions.

The internship starts May 31, 2027 and may extend; hybrid in-person work is required. Open to current students enrolled in ABET-accredited programs who can commit to full‑time hours

Qualifications

• Current student (Junior or higher) as of Fall 2027.
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university with a relevant degree.
• Able to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) in-person per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and modeling to identify patterns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver insights.
• Assist in ad-hoc reporting and data quality validation.
• Document findings and present insights to teams.
