Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minnesota is offering a summer internship with the Meta Architecture team to design and implement architecture solutions, collaborating with IT/OT stakeholders to deliver measurable business value and contribute to AI initiatives.

The internship emphasizes mentorship, learning, and hybrid work, with responsibilities including research, analysis, documentation, and providing technical support, and a May 31, 2027 start date.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in a degree program in CS, MIS, CE, CIS, Data Science, Math or related field.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) and commuting to the designated work location per our hybrid work policy.
• Willing to commute to designated work location per hybrid policy.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles preferred.
• Any technical certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT/OT architects and business stakeholders to research, design, and implement architecture solutions that support enterprise objectives and deliver measurable business value.
• Contribute to AI/ML initiatives, including exploration, development, and adoption of intelligent solutions that enhance productivity, automation, and decision-making.
• Participate in architecture, project, and team meetings, contributing ideas within a collaborative team environment.
• Conduct research, analysis, and solution evaluation to support architects in solving business and technology challenges across the enterprise.
• Assist in development, documentation, and continuous improvement of IT/OT architecture standards, principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and problem-solving assistance for architecture-related initiatives.
