Job summary

Farmers Equipment Company in Lynden, WA is seeking a Service Manager to lead the service department at our Lynden location.

You will oversee repair orders (retail, warranty and unit prep), staff development, scheduling, and customer communications to drive efficiency and high satisfaction. Strong supervisory and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to handle seasonal demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade or technical school diploma preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
• Analytical skills are expected to support decision making.
• Solid understanding of internal combustion, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Effective supervisory skills are required.
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts and complaints.
• 3–5 years of directly applicable experience preferred.
• Ability to operate applicable business systems.
• Flexibility to work hours to meet seasonal needs and on-call requests.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the service department develops and efficiently processes repair orders (retail, warranty and unit prep).
• Develop and monitor departmental objectives aligned with company goals and budgets.
• Schedule service work effectively and adjust plans as needed.
• Coordinate with Marketing to support department initiatives.
• Recruit and onboard qualified personnel to staff the service team.
• Improve performance through training, evaluations, and recognition.
• Maintain timely communication with customers to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
• Support actions to sustain high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
