Job summary

Farmers Equipment Company in Lynden, WA is seeking a Service Writer to support the Service Manager and coordinate technician scheduling for repairs on customer and internal equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade or Technical School Diploma preferred.
• Strong relational and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of technical components in assigned area(s).
• Strong diagnostic skills to document and relay customer equipment issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to supervise and manage conflicts internally and externally.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• 1–3 years of directly applicable experience preferred.
• Willingness to work hours as needed to meet seasonal business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Service Manager in accomplishing company financial and service goals.
• Assist in scheduling and assigning technicians to efficiently make repairs.
• Make sound judgments in dealing with customer repair requirements.
• Assist in developing staff through training, evaluation, and recognition.
• Prepare Work Orders and daily time records for technicians and reconcile for accuracy.
• Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate internal and external Work Order records and SDS as applicable.
• May complete the majority of warranty claims.
• Respond to incoming calls and route them appropriately.
• Direct supervisory responsibility of 2–6 technicians.
