Job summary

AgWest Farm Credit in Paso Robles, CA, is hiring for Credit Underwriter II or III (Credit Analyst) to join the California Lending and Insurance department. This full-time role supports average to above average loan portfolios across agricultural sectors, with base salary ranges and annual incentive targets.

The successful candidate will analyze financial statements, credit risk, and collateral, while supporting customer relationships and industry teams. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or ag related field or equivalent
• 1–2 years accounting or financial industry experience
• Understanding of credit laws and regulations, bankruptcy and collection procedures
• Ability to market, sell and negotiate terms on AgWest products in writing and verbally
• Knowledge of appraisal techniques and loan administration practices
• Thorough knowledge of credit classifications

Responsibilities

• Gather financial and business information from customers via interviews and other resources
• Analyze financial statements, tax records and pro forma statements
• Analyze credit and prepare analyses for small to medium portfolios
• Support customer relationships through marketing and servicing financial products
• Participate in the Large Loan process to deliver high quality products within risk parameters
• Perform loan closings and ensure proper documentation and credit administration
