Job summary

Delta Dental of California is seeking a Scrum Master to guide Agile teams in applying Scrum practices, values, and principles, driving risk and dependency management to ensure quality and timeliness.

The role requires delivering facilitation for Scrum ceremonies, backlog support, and cross-team coordination with SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and XP frameworks, while continuously improving team performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of delivery leadership experience in technology with Agile delivery experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution.
• Understand various Agile methodologies and frameworks; SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, XP.
• Effective communication skills and ability to adapt style to audiences.
• Ability to teach simple Agile concepts to teams.
• Ability to analyze data and draw insights on team performance.
• Knowledge of basic technical terminology and processes/systems.

Responsibilities

• Applies Agile principles, values, practices, and mindsets.
• Supports Product Owners with backlog maintenance, backlog prioritization, and user story refinement to deliver highest business value.
• Facilitates Sprint planning, daily Scrum, dependency reviews, demos to stakeholders, and retrospectives.
• Uses Scrum of Scrums (SOS) forum and coordinates with other teams to manage cross-team dependencies.
• Facilitates frequent retrospectives, sharing metrics to identify and implement improvements.
• Identifies and resolves impediments, removing barriers and enabling cooperation.
• Drives risks, issues and dependencies to resolution; escalates blockers when needed.
• Able to support Kanban teams when needed.
