The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mining or aggregates, strong leadership, and a proven ability to improve safety, equipment availability, and cost-effective maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the mining industry, preferably in the surface aggregates.
• Knowledge of cone crushers, jaw crushers, HSI crushers, conveyors, screens.
• Expertise in maintenance planning, inspections, lubrication, scheduling, and MSHA safety standards.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage a team.

Responsibilities

• Champion health and safety initiatives to meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee maintenance of fixed plant equipment, availability, utilization, inspections, parts inventory, and predictive sampling.
• Supervise hourly personnel and contractors to optimize maintenance schedules and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Train and mentor employees, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain an efficient, cost-effective maintenance program.
• Oversee parts procurement and balance inventory to minimize downtime while controlling costs.
• Maintain minimum parts inventory for operational continuity.
• Evaluate maintenance issues and prioritize timely resolutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, safety enhancements, and cost reductions.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an Aggregate Maintenance Foreman for our operations in Shepherdsville, KY. The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and productive daily operation of all plant equipment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to enhance workplace safety, maximize equipment availability, and drive cost-effective maintenance practices.

Job Responsibilities

• Champion health and safety initiatives to meet or exceed company standards and regulatory requirements for employees and contractors.
• Track and oversee all aspects of fixed plant equipment maintenance, including availability, utilization, pre-shift inspections, parts inventory, and predictive sampling.
• Supervise and manage hourly personnel and contractors to optimize maintenance schedules, minimizing unplanned equipment downtime.
• Train and mentor employees on best practices, providing regular feedback and coaching to enhance performance.
• Collaborate with site management, maintenance personnel, and contractors to develop and maintain an efficient, cost-effective maintenance program.
• Oversee parts procurement for the fixed plant equipment, balancing inventory to minimize downtime while controlling costs.
• Maintain an effective minimum parts inventory to ensure operational continuity without excessive stockpiling.
• Evaluate and prioritize maintenance issues as they arise, ensuring timely and effective resolution of unplanned challenges.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements, safety improvements, and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry, preferably in the surface aggregate industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of equipment used in the aggregates industry, including cone crushers, jaw crushers, HSI crushers, conveyor belts, screens, and more.
• Expertise in equipment maintenance practices, including inspections, lubrication, planning, scheduling, and adherence to the gold maintenance standard.
• Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and electronic components (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of regulatory standards (e.g., MSHA) and workplace safety protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve complex operational and maintenance challenges.
• Knowledge of storeroom and tool room procedures to ensure optimal inventory management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to conduct safety talks, risk assessments, and training sessions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email applications.
• Perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 75 lbs.) for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
• Work at heights up to 200 feet and in tight spaces to install and handle heavy parts.
• Must have visual acuity, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
